I think you need to think new. Using old software will just be a pain.... Working with the API would work I think. Record the sound, send to AI API. Format with AI for your taste, then start to edit... Chunking the output has worked for me also. AI has problems with long audio files...

Haven't heard of any "AI gif-animation editor", you could edit the animated gif the old way without AI. Then improve / switch individual images with AI. Batch edit images with AI should be possible also., Why exactly do you want to update the gifs? @MarkW68

How low is the latency? Saw a test someone had done with a $5000 computer or so and deepseek, and it was slooowww. Personally I use Groq. Fast and cheap.

@Brachio excellent question. My experience with AI context, is what you need a system that can truncate the context (context = your already written pages). Keep it small and summarized. Otherwise AI will loose track of things. So for every prompt you do, you need to have a summary of your book...

Have you tried ChatGPT with reasoning? Like the o3 model. Prompt stating "Convert this text into Grade 8 reading level" would be enough. Haven't heard of a specific tool for this, and it's probably not needed.
