Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 vs. Google, WWDC 26 AI Surg

Looks like Anthropic just dropped a new AI model called Claude Fable 5, or “Mythos,” and they’re already bragging it beats GPT‑5.5 and Gemini in coding tests.

Jack Clark, the co‑founder, even said Claude is now writing a lot of its own code. He warned we’re getting close to AI that can evolve with barely any human input.

At the same time Google’s Search Console rolled out fresh AI performance reports and tighter controls, right before the May 2026 core update. And WWDC26 is pushing a “Core AI” hub in Xcode, with ready‑to‑run examples that look super handy for devs.

Oh, and did you see the demo where a simple prompt spun up a fully playable 3D world? It’s wild how fast generative AI is moving into interactive media.

I’m kind of excited but also a bit nervous. If AI can code itself and build worlds on the fly, what does that mean for us developers and creators? Where do you think the line between tool and teammate will end? What do you think?

It's exciting yet unsettling to watch AI like Claude Fable 5 handle its own code while demos build entire worlds from prompts. This evolution could turn developers into high-level guides who steer creative direction instead of handling every detail.

- Bold idea: Focus on strategy and oversight to stay ahead.
Small tests with new tools often reveal fresh opportunities.

How do you picture your own role shifting in the coming months?
