Image to Video Animation - Realistic Strobe Light Effects?

I am trying to do some image to video animations and add realistic strobe light effects to the video. No matter what I try I cannot seem to get the apps to create the effect that looks anything like a real strobe light. Basic simple strobe lights should just be rapid and repetitive flashes of bright white light. Simple, right? Wrong. No matter what I do or how I try to describe the effect in my prompts it never comes out right. I get every other weird lighting effect you can think of... slow pulsating light flashes, undulating watery looking lights, lightning bolts, sparkles, characters glowing and shimmering, you name it. But a simple rapid flashing strobe light... nope. I've used Chatgpt and Grok chat to give me several different "prompt ready" descriptions and wording "guaranteed" to give me realistic strobe lighting, but none of that works either. I'm about to give up.

Has anybody tried and succeeded in creating real looking strobe lighting in their AI videos, and if so, would you mind sharing the prompt wording you used to achieve this seemingly impossible achievement?

Thanks.

Strobe is hard for most image-to-video models because they're trained to keep motion smooth and lighting consistent between frames, so they tend to average the flashes away. A few things that have worked for me:

1. Describe the light, not the effect. Instead of "strobe light", try "harsh white flash lighting turning on and off rapidly, alternating bright and dark frames, nightclub, high contrast".
2. Keep clips short (3-5s) and the subject mostly still. Big camera moves make the model prioritise motion over lighting changes.
3. Generate the base animation first, then add the strobe in an editor. In CapCut/Premiere/DaVinci, duplicate the clip, crank exposure on the copy and cut between them every 2-4 frames. It looks far more realistic than anything the models produce natively, and you control the rhythm.
4. If you want it in-model, generate two versions (one lit, one dark) from the same image and seed, then alternate them.

For transparency, I work on Seedance 2 (https://seedance2.media), an image-to-video tool, and even there step 3 gives the cleanest strobe.
